Praise the Lord!!!

After eight long months without it, College Football has arrived. I'm so excited!! So, I'm off to Atlanta to see my niece (most importantly) and to attend the Georgia Tech Football Game. College Game Day is going to be at Georgia Tech, so you'll have to tune into ESPN and see if you can see me. I'll post pics once I get back.

Child Rearing Lesson #1

I am so lucky to have a brother and sister-in-law that love their child enough to raise her as a Yellow Jacket. I'm so glad that I don't have to worry about any of that Bulldog nonsense. This is Madison's first experience as a Yellow Jacket and her first trip to Bobby Dodd.
Madison meeting Chan Gailey, our head coach. If he does good this season, Madison will be one of his biggest fans.
Madison is already being recruited by the cheerleading squad. Once she get a little bigger, her aunt will buy her a GT cheerleading outfit.
With her pink GT outfit and her GT blanket, she's ready for the season. See, she's already in cheering position and if I could have added sound, you would hear her say, "I'm a ramblin wreck from Georgia Tech."

The Heat Is On

Okay, I just pulled up the previous months' calendar of the temperatures in Texas. In the past month, there has only been one day under 100 degrees. It is miserable here. 104, 105, 106 and sometimes the heat index can be 110 - 115 degrees. This heat can seriously make you mad. At 8am, I'm walking from my car into my workplace and sweating, it's already 90 degrees at 8am in the morning. Anyway, if you have any cooler weather or rain, please send it my way.

Answered Prayer

Thank you for your prayers. We found out this morning that Blakley and Madison do not have meningitis. Praise the Lord. Blakley's 104 fever finally broke early this morning and they went home from the hospital. Please keep them in your prayers because they are still not sure what they have.

Asking for Prayer

This is my wonderful family and this pic was Madison's first day at church. Anyway, I'm asking for anyone that reads this to pray. Jonathan had to take Blakley and Madison to the emergency room tonight. Blakley and Madison had a high fever. The hospital couldn't figure out what was wrong and they are testing both of them for meningitis. Please pray for the Lord's healing, the doctors to have wisdom and pray for Jonathan to be comforted by the Holy Spirit. Thank you so much for praying.

Much Anticipated Pics

This past weekend I was able to fly to Georgia and meet my new niece, Madison Alexa McLendon. She was the most adorable baby ever, of course. Needless to say, I sobbed all of the way home thinking about how much bigger she would be in a month when I go visit again.
This was Madison's first time going to church. How precious is she? We had quite the wardrobe disaster before going to church. Madison is a little too small for most of her clothes, but with bloomers rolled up, this dress was perfect. I was never worried about this wardrobe fiasco, because her mom is a fashion expert.

SOCIALLY ACCEPTABLE????

Okay, I recently got back from vacation and soon I will post pictures and a little journal of my fun times in Georgia, Lousiana, and North Carolina. Until then I must share an experience that my co-worker had at the bank. As she is helping a customer with his banking needs, she smells a rank/disturbing smell. Is this her customer? She's probably thinking, "well, this is gross, but maybe he's sick." Everyone would think that she would have to continue to wonder, except that the customer proceeds to rub his stomach and say, "oh, my stomach is upset....oh excuse me.....oh I had a heavy lunch......oh excuse me." As my co-worker stood there in complete disbelief we were told that this is not the first time that he's done this. Is this form of behavior socially acceptable now? I think not, but my co-workers and I had a good laugh about it.
